Senior Master Sergeant (Retired) Donald Ferdinand Brickhaus, 78, of Riverview, Florida, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 2, 2024 at The Sun City Center Hospice House in Ruskin, Florida.

He was born January 25, 1946, in Perryville to Raymond Henry and Mildred Nurcena Hoffman Brickhaus.

He and Janet Sharon Loberg Brickhaus were married May 27, 1967 in Perryville. She preceded him in death on July 15, 2024.

He enlisted in the United States Air Force on June 18, 1964 as a fuel specialist and deployed to Vietnam in 1966. He served in the logistics career field for 21 years at various supervision and management levels. He subsequently served as a First Sergeant for six years. His decorations include the Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the National Defense Service Medal. Upon retirement from the Air Force, he worked for Wallis Oil Company in Cape Girardeau as a fuel transport driver for several years.

He accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior later in life and was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Avon Park, Florida.

Survivors include his daughter, Dana Sue Lane of Riverview, Florida; son, Duane Ray Brickhaus of Lithia, Florida; and grandchildren: Courtney Brooke Lane, Danielle Rae Brickhaus, Brendan Joseph Lane, David Ryan Brickhaus, Joshua Riley Brickhaus, and Jessica Ruth Brickhaus. He is also survived by two sisters, Norma Jean Wengert, of Perryville and Carol Ann Raines, of Scott City. He was preceded in death by his loving wife and parents.

Visitation will be held 9:00 am to 11:00 am Friday, August 23, 2024, at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau. Funeral service will follow 11:00 am Friday at the funeral home with Pastor David Pringle officiating. Burial will be at Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield, with full military honors.
