Diana Lukefahr (nee Thompson), of Perryville, died on January 1, 2025, peacefully at home and surrounded by family.
She was 78 and leaves behind her husband George J. Lukefahr (whom she married in May of 1989).
She was born on October 23, 1946, the second of nine children born to Ralph and Alma Thompson.
Predeceased by her parents, she is survived by all eight of her beloved siblings; Mary Ann Brewer, Donna Hudson (and her spouse, Leonard “Shorty”), David (and Audrey) Thompson, Clark Thompson, Jim (and Vickie) Thompson, Stanley (and Cindy) Thompson, Danny (and Cathy) Thompson, and Lonnie (and Diana) Thompson.
She had four children, all of whom survive, Ken DelSignore, Patti Williams (and her husband, Chuck Williams), Vince DelSignore, and Sandy (nee DelSignore) Zola. She is also survived by all five of her grandchildren; Hannah and Nathan Williams, Mackenzie, Michael and Bryan DelSignore, and many nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends.
She enjoyed a friendly poker game, logic problems, Scrabble, jigsaw puzzles, Antiques Roadshow, and Family Feud. She loved Rueben sandwiches from Park-et, glazed doughnuts and jelly rolls from Hoeckle’s Bakery, Mexican food from Acapulco (with an occasional margarita), chocolate malts from Ewald’s, and Pepsi. She loved flower gardening (especially day lilies) and spending time with her family. She made the best potato salad (pro tip — swap the celery for chopped green onions). She loved music, ranging from Conway Twitty to Credence Clearwater Revival to Alanis Morsette. She made quilts of denim squares from recycled blue jeans and gifted (at least) one to every member of her immediate and extended family.
She will be remembered for her optimism, her perennial smile, and her infectious laughter. She was laid to rest at Whitewater Christian Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers or donations, please take someone you love to their favorite lunch spot.
