Congressman visits Perryville Pumpkin Farm last week

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Jason Smith (R-District 8) visited the Perryville Pumpkin Farm Aug. 21 for his annual Farm Tour.

“I appreciate Brian and Dianna Koenig for taking me on a tour of their pumpkin farm,” said Smith. “They added the pumpkin farm to their operation in 2001 so that their sons could get involved in the family business. Just like for so many farm families, skyrocketing fuel costs and burdensome regulations are two of the biggest challenges they face running their operation. I promised to continue fighting to stop the Left’s radical climate agenda that’s driven up energy prices and keep doing everything I can to get rid of burdensome red tape that costs farm families precious time and resources.”

Every year, Smith participates in a Farm Tour highlighting the diverse types of farms, ranches, and agriculture businesses across Missouri's 8th Congressional District. The annual tradition is a great opportunity for Smith, a fourth-generation owner of a family farm, to hear directly from farmers, ranchers, and small businesses about the challenges they face with the federal government.
