Citizens Electric Corporation and TEA Solutions agreed on March 1 to assist Citizens Electric in its transition away from its current power supplier. The Energy Authority (TEA), headquartered in Jacksonville, Fla., offers public power entities strategic insights on maximizing the value of their assets, along with advisory services, advanced analytics, and renewable solutions.
TEA Solutions, a sister company of The Energy Authority, was established to support community-owned utilities, such as cooperatives, and will help Citizens Electric complete the transition from a single supplier to multiple wholesale energy providers.

The corporation’s partnership with TEA Solutions will offer a range of services in power delivery, including Portfolio Management, Load Forecasting, and RTO Services. This suite of services will ensure that Citizens Electric Corporation has sufficient oversight of its power supply portfolio and benefits from an experienced team of specialists to manage risk in forecasting and trading markets.

According to Citizens Electric, it remains committed to offering its members reliable and affordable power. Recent changes in the wholesale power market, growing demands for system flexibility, and rising operational costs with its previous wholesale power provider led to the decision to seek a new provider.
On June 1, 2025, Citizens Electric will officially conclude its membership with Wabash Valley Power Alliance and transition to a customer status, which will last until May 31, 2028. TEA Solutions is dedicated to assisting Citizens Electric in its efforts to provide sustainable and cost-effective power to its members in the future.
