Carol Sue Yamnitz, 68, of Patton passed away Friday, April 4, 2025, at home with her husband by her side. She fought a long courageous battle with her cancer.

She was born July 30, 1956, in St. Louis, the daughter of Bob R. and Alice Leanna Limbaugh Jones. Carol and Terry were married on August 24, 1974, in Perryville. Four children were born to their union: Eric W, Terry R., Jamie L., and Christin R.

Carol was raised in the Sedgewickville community and attended Meadow Heights School, graduating with the class of 1974. She was a devoted wife and mother. Carol worked for Wal-Mart for years. After retiring, she and her husband bought a truck and traveled across the country for two years, including trips to Canada. Carol particularly enjoyed the mountains during their journey. When their son Terry became increasingly ill, she decided to stay home with him.

Whether tending cattle, gardening, or helping in the hay field, Carol loved spending time outdoors. She especially enjoyed using a couple of tractors to rake hay.

Loving survivors include her husband of 50 years, Terry W. Yamnitz; two sons, Eric Yamnitz of Sedgewickville, Jamie Yamnitz of Daisy; a daughter, Christin Yamnitz of Sedgewickville; a grandson, Rhett Whitener; three brothers, Eddie Jones of Sedgewickville, Gary (Cindy) Jones of Perryville and Mark Jones of Perryville; two sisters-in-law, Debbie (Michael) Jones of Silex and Brenda (Glen) Noe of Patton; a brother-in-law, Jerry Yamnitz of Perryville and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Bob and Alice Jones; a son, Terry Yamnitz; a brother, Michael Jones and a niece, Stacy Jones.
