Carol Lee Gemma Voshage, 67, of Jackson, died Friday, October 31, 2025, from a 13-year battle with brain cancer. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by those who loved her.
She was born October 24, 1958, in Perryville, to Emil Gerald and Leontine Francis Naeger Schaaf.
She and Ronnie Eugene Voshage were married May 29, 1983, at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson.
Carol was a 1977 graduate of St. Vincent High School. She worked at Procter & Gamble before becoming a dedicated mom, raising her only son, Aaron.
Carol graciously dedicated her time and talent to the Immaculate Conception Catholic School art program. She was devoted to her Catholic faith, the monthly Rosary at St. Mary of the Barren’s National Shrine in Perryville, and to her family.
Carol’s happiest moments in life were when she was surrounded by family.
She was a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson.
Survivors include her husband, Ronnie Voshage of Jackson; a son, Aaron (Megan) Voshage; two step-sons, Merit (Kandra) Voshage and Shane Voshage; seven brothers, Mark Schaaf, John (Cathy) Schaaf, Joe Schaaf, Chris (Jean) Schaaf, Brian Schaaf, Phil (Tammy) Schaaf and Carl (Dawn) Schaaf; two sisters, Mary (Jerry) Fulton and Gemma (Kenny) Geile; and four grandchildren, Brinley Voshage, Barrett Voshage, Natalie Voshage and Dylan Voshage.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Gregory Paul Schaaf.
Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Ford & Sons Funeral Home in Jackson, with Parish Prayers at 4 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 6, 2025, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Jackson, with the Rev. Randy Tochtrup officiating.
Burial will be at Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
Memorial contributions may be given to Siteman Cancer Center in St. Louis.
