A Cape Girardeau man received serious injuries in a motorcycle accident that occurred at 7:56 p.m. Sunday on Perry County Road 447 at Route A.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred when an eastbound 2010 Harley Davidson Heritage Softtail driven by Joseph M. Kelley, 50, of Cape Girardeau, traveled over gravel in the roadway and began to slide. The motorcycle overturned to the left, ejecting the driver.
Kelley, who was reportedly wearing a helmet at the time of the accident, was transported to Mercy Hospital St. Louis by Air Evac helicopter, where he was treated for his injuries.
The motorcycle, which received minor damage, was driven from the scene.
