Allen Edward Lane, 69, of Cape Girardeau, died Tuesday, April 8, 2025, at Jackson Manor.
He was born August 9, 1955, to Doyle Luckey and JoAnn Barber Lane.
He and Diane Marie French were married September 25, 1982, at Brazeau, Missouri. She preceded him in death on October 2, 2023.
He served in the United States Navy from 1973-1979, with two years following in the Naval Reserves, where he was enlisted as an intelligence officer and electronic warfare technologist on the USS Talbot FFG-4 First Ship and USS Ellison DD-864 Second Ship.
He was an elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church, a Boy Scout leader and a member of the Brazeau Historical Society.
Survivors include a daughter, Jenna (Mark) Rubel of Cape Girardeau; a son, Justin (Kayla) Lane of Omaha, Nebraska; two grandchildren, Dylan Rubel and Brendan Hays; a brother, Keith (Sandy) Lane of Fenton; three sisters, Wanda Lane Thurman of Maryland Heights, Gale (Joe) Lane Bell of Columbia, Illinois, Nicki (Ruben) Lane Brown of Shiloh, Illinois; numerous nieces and nephews; and his beloved dog, Gracie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau.
The funeral service was held at 10 a.m. Monday, April 14, 2025, at Brazeau Presbyterian Church in Brazeau, with the Rev. Ellen Gurnon officiating.
Burial was at Brazeau Presbyterian Cemetery in Brazeau.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Lane family for funeral expenses.
