Woman arrested on DWI charge after fatal UTV accident

A Perryville woman was arrested Friday night on a charge of driving while intoxicated resulting in the death of another after a fatal UTV accident on private property north of Perryville.

According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Jacqueline L. Miller, 39, suffered fatal injuries when she was ejected from the 2020 Polaris RZR EP she was riding in as it overturned.

The accident occurred at approximately 10:53 p.m. at 321 Morning Star Circle, northeast of Perryville and south of Allen Landings Road.

According to the accident report, the crash occurred when the UTV’s driver, Stephanie M. Stark, 37, of Perryville, executed a sharp turn, causing the vehicle to overturn and Miller to be ejected.

The report indicated Miller was not wearing a safety device.

Miller was transported from the scene by Perry County Ambulance and taken to Perry County Memorial Hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Stark was arrested by the Highway Patrol after the accident and transported to the Perry County Jail, where she was later released.

The UTV suffered what was described as moderate damage and was towed from the scene by Perry County Towing.
