After a thorough external search across 43 candidates, the Perry County Health System Board of Directors has awarded the Chief Executive Officer position to Chris Wibbenmeyer.

Wibbenmeyer joined Perry County Memorial Hospital in 1996 as an ARRT Radiologic Technologist after earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Radiologic Sciences from the University of Missouri, Columbia. In 1998, he was promoted to Director of Radiology. Through the years, Chris continued his education and earned a Master’s in Business Administration in 2008 from Webster University, St. Louis, Missouri. With a need to develop and effectively rebuild PCMH’s Human Resources department, Chris was promoted to Associate Vice President of Support Services and Human Resources in 2009.

Chris further developed his credentials by successfully completing the coursework and leadership requirements for membership in the American College of Healthcare Executives in which he was inducted into ACHE as a Fellow in 2012. Fellowship in ACHE is the relative equivalency of being board certified in healthcare leadership in the United States. This designation is granted only by the American College of Healthcare Executives, the most recognized professional society in the field of healthcare and hospital administration. In May 2016, Chris was then promoted to vice president of Operations/Chief Operating Officer. He continued in this role while being named the Interim CEO in September 2020.

“The decision to award Chris the position of CEO is a testament to his strengths of operational excellence, results driven leadership, physician and staff respect, and strong community relationships,” stated Dr. Keith Moeckel, Perry County Health System Board President.  “We are happy and proud to be able to promote from within for this key leadership role.”
