Two contested races in April

The deadlines for candidate filings for the April 6 municipal election were Tuesday evening, and there are just two contested races.
The Perry County Health Department Board has six individuals who filed for three spots.
They were: Denise Morrison of Perryville; Carol Moore of Perryville; Carisa Stark of Perryville; Alexandria Lueders of Uniontown: Keith Carroll of Perryville; and Chris Wibbenmeyer of Perryville.
The Perry County Memorial Hospital Board had four candidates file for one position.

Those candidates are William “Bill” Bohnert, Patrick Naeger, Sharon Unterreiner and Linda Buerck, all of Perryville.
Municipal races
In terms of municipal races, all three incumbents for Board of Aldermen filed for the city of Perryville for the two-year terms. They include Larry Riney (Ward 1), Douglas Martin (Ward 2) and David Schumer (Ward 3).
In the city of Altenburg, the filings were: Daniel Foster, mayor; and Kent Grebing, Ward 1; and Michael Hughey, Ward 2 for the Board of Aldermen. The mayor and board spots are both for two years.
In the village of Longtown, two individuals filed for two openings on the five-member board. They were Rick Kinikin and Cindy Shenette. Individuals serve for two years.
