Letter: Trump's refusal to accept reality

Posted

Dear editor:

President Trump is refusing to accept reality that he lost the election to Joe Biden.

You have President Trump saying he will have a second term. On Nov. 10, 2020, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo stated that there will be a smooth transition to a second term. Then on Nov. 14, Vice President Pence suggests that the Trump administration will be in place for four more years. White House trade adviser Peter Navarro said the Trump administration is operating as if it will extend into a second term. Then you have fox host Lou Dobbs calling on the GOP to help Trump secure a second term.

These people can't accept that President Trump lost. They want to undo the will of the American People!

Trump is refusing to help Biden with the transition to the Biden Administration. President-elect Biden should be given daily security briefs, which he is not, which puts Americans in danger.

The world is looking at us, especially our enemies. The GOP is too scared to stand up and speak up. They are afraid of the Trump base, his followers, and that they won't get re-elected to their office.

When they took office, they took an oath to protect and defend the Constitution — not protect the president. Never in history has a president acted like this. People need to stand up, speak up and say, "Enough is enough. Expect defeat. Gracefully concede."
