Three hurt in Hwy. 51 wreck

A three-vehicle accident on Hwy. 51 near the Chester Bridge last week left three Chester residents — one a juvenile — with minor injuries.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Justin Nortin, 42, was traveling north on Hwy. 51 at approximately 2:48 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 25, when his vehicle, a 2014 Ford Escape, struck the rear end of another vehicle that was stopped in traffic near the Horse Island Chute Bridge.
That vehicle, a 2007 Ford Focus driven by Catalina Argueta, 64, was then forced into the rear of a third vehicle, a 1196 Buick Regal driven by Carrie A. Burgdorf.
Burgdorf and her 16-year-old passenger —which the report indicated were both wearing seatbelts — suffered minor injuries, as did Argueta. All three were transported by Medstar Ambulance to Chester Memorial Hospital for treatment.
Burgdorf’s vehicle suffered what was described as minor damage. Argueta’s vehicle suffered extensive damage. Both vehicles were towed from the scene by Hunsaker Towing. Nortin, who was uninjured, drove his vehicle — which also suffered minor damage — from the scene.
