Teacher to star in wrestling fundraiser at PCSD 32

Cape Championship Wrestling is coming to Perryville next month, and it’s going be chaos — Perryville Chaos, that is. And the star of the show is a local teacher.
Dalton Manche, who teaches music at Perryville Elementary School, is a member of Cape Championship Wrestling, and will take the lead in a fundraising showcase on Nov. 12 to raise money to install shade structures on the school playground and courtyard. Manche, who wrestles under the name Dalton Anthony, will be defending his CCW Tag Title.
“I have been a wrestler for four years,” Manche said, “but I started training five years ago. I have kept my wrestling a secret from my students since I started, but now the cat is out of the bag and they seem to be very excited about it.”
Manche got started with the sport in a very unusual way.
“I started wrestling with Cape Championship Wrestling in 2018. I got started as a dare and found that I really enjoyed the sport of professional wrestling,” Manche said.

Tickets for the event can be purchased online through Eventbrite at https://www.eventbrite.com/e/411986210847. PES families can also purchase tickets at Family Fun Night on Nov. 8.
Admission for students is $5 and adult admission is $10. The doors open at 6 p.m. at the PHS Gym, and the show starts at 7 p.m. Concessions will be available as well.
“We hope our entire D32 school family comes out to support our fundraiser and Mr. Manche,” said PES Assistant Principal Leslie Ackermann. “We had to remove some damaged trees and now we have no shaded areas on our playground or in the courtyard, so we hope to raise enough money to complete this project.
“We’ve always sold cookie dough as our fall fundraiser,” she said, “but I think many families were ready for something new. Since we had a pro wrestler on our staff, I thought this would be a fun new event that our families could enjoy together.”
Manche said he’s excited for wrestling to return to Perryville.
“I think the viewers are going to be impressed with the kind of show Cape Championship Wrestling is going to deliver,” he said. “The whole roster, top to bottom, is incredibly talented. That, along with Perryville not having live professional wrestling in over 20 years, we are looking to put on an amazing show on Nov. 12.”
