The Perryville Silver Daggers Club will make its return to the stage later this month.
The Perryville drama club will perform its rendition of “Meet Me in St. Louis.”
The play will be performed Thursday through Saturday, Nov. 11-13 at 7 p.m. each night at the Old Senior High.
Tickets are $7 each and can be bought at the door on the nights of the show.
“It’s play that is for all ages,” Perryvulle Drama Club Director Jennifer Birk-Cook said. “I did this show about 15 years ago and its funny and light-hearted.”
“Meet Me in St. Louis” is a family comedy that is set in 1904 and follows a family at the start of the World’s Fair in St. Louis.
It is not the musical version, but follows the same plot as the movie.

“The musical is more about Judy Garland’s character in the movie, where as this version is more about the whole family.” Birk-Cook said.

This is the first play that the drama club will perform this school year
As in previous years, the Perryville drama club has a large number of students, which Birk-Cook welcomes every year.
“When I first started here 21 years ago we had 20 students in the drama club, but within five years we were up to 40. That’s a good thing, but it limits the types of shows we can do,” Birk-Cook said.
The cast includes Noah Bergman as Lonnie Smith, Aubrey Wortmann as Rose, Caitlyn Hoff as Ester, Lydia Chotrow as Agnes, Katelynn Starr as Tootie, Wyatt Duncan as Lon and Damien Sneed as Grandpa Prophater.
Birk-Cook said that the cast and crew along with some props are coming together to make the show a success.
“The set is starting to look really good,” she said. “It looks like an old Victorian house and we are even building a trolley because they were popular during that time. It’s going to be a fun time.”
