Seven to vie for three school board spots

The filing deadline has come and gone for the 2022 election. Next year’s general municipal election will take place Tuesday, April 5, 2022.
There will be a three-way race for mayor next April, and several individuals are seeking spots on the Perry County School District No. 32 Board of Education.
Three individuals have filed for mayor for the city of Perryville. The list includes Larry Riney, who is now serving as Ward 1 alderman; incumbent mayor Ken Baer; and Kenny Tucker.
Also, two individuals have filed for the Ward 3 alderman spot. They include Prince Hudson as well as Clinton Rice.
Other city filings include: Direk Hunt, city marshal (also referred to as chief of police); Tom Guth, Ward 1 alderman; and Curt Buerck, Ward 2 alderman.

The filing deadline was Tuesday, Dec. 28.
Richard Dix, Glendon Sattler, Roger Sample and Dominic Blythe have all filed for a three-year term on the Perry County School District No. 32 Board of Education.
Casey Brewer, Melissa Hahn and Chris Congiardo each have filed for a one-year term.
For the Perry County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees, Steve Rozier, Robin Huber Sims and William “Bill” Bohnert have all filed for the five-year term.
The final certification date for the 2022 municipal election is Jan. 25, 2022. The last date for individuals to register to vote will be March 9, 2022.
