Roy Glennon Hudson , 92, of Perryville died Saturday, November 12, 2022 at Independence Care Center in Perryville.
He was born January 24, 1930 in Perry County, to Charles Columbus Hudson and Margaret Irene (Munn) (Huber) Hudson Streiler.
He and Dolores Loyola Hudson were married October 2, 1954 at Assumption Church, Perryville. She preceded him in death in 2009. He married in 2010 to Joyce Bollinger Leible Hudson at United Methodist Church, Perryville.
He attended Perryville High School from 1944-1948. He served four years in the U.S. Navy 1948-1952. During that deployment, he traveled 1 1/2 times around the world, served in the South China Sea, the Korean War, and was stationed in the Panama Canal. He worked for Union Electric (later Ameren UE) from 1952-1990 as a journeyman lineman, trouble shooter, to office dispatcher. He received certification in AC/HAV from North County Tech School of Florissant, MO. He always worked two jobs as a house painter and builder, owned Hudson Service Company. He had the ability of fixing most anything as a “jack of all trades,” built some beautiful furniture, was a gun craftsman, an avid hunter, and was an excellent wine maker.

He was a life member in the American Legion Post #133, the Veteran of Foreign Wars, the National Rifle Association, and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW).
He was a member of United Methodist Church in Perryville.
Survivors include two daughters, Conseula L Roth (Stanley) of Perryville, Carmelita M Hudson-Kane of Perryville; six grandchildren, Nicholas M. (Molly) Friedhoff, Katherine M. Ehman, Thomas M. (Abigail Dunard) Friedhoff, Andrew M. Friedhoff, Joseph M. Kane, Roy V. Kane; great-grandchild, Caleb J. Ehman; three step-daughters, Brenda (Bob) Moran of New Haven, MO, Tina (Donny) Littge of Perryville, Lisa (Tim) Engelbrecht of New Haven, MO. He was preceded in death by his parents and first wife; son, Roy Hudson, Jr.; two sisters, Aileen E. Campbell, Rosalie B. Grogg; brother, Melvin C Hudson.
Visitation will be 9-10 a.m. on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at United Methodist Church in Perryville. A Memorial Service will follow at 10 a.m. Saturday, December 17, 2022 at United Methodist Church in Perryville with the Rev. Kevin Barron officiating. He gifted his body to SLU School of Medicine in St. Louis.
