Robert J. “Bob” Young, 69, of Perryville passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at Mercy South Hospital.
He was born October 28, 1952 in Perryville to Edward C. and Marguerite N. (Miget) Young.
He and Lois M. Griffard were married on June 12, 1976 at St. Vincent de Paul. She survives in Perryville.
Bob was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church and choir. He was a 1971 Graduate of St. Vincent. He was an Eagle Boy Scout and Boy Scout Leader, Past Commander of American Legion Post 133, Knights of Columbus 4th Degree and Past Grand Knight, along with a veteran of the Vietnam era, former owner operator of Young & Sons Funeral Home. Past Perryville Country Club House Manager and Salesman at SEMCO. Through all his medical issues, his sense of humor never wavered. Bob didn’t know a stranger.
Survivors include daughter, Allison (Kurt Christman) Young of Denver; son, Gabriel (Kriste) Young of Kirkwood; three brothers, Edward C. Young, III of Perryville, Thomas (Suzie) Young of Mehlville, and John (Pam) Young of Perryville; three grandchildren, Harper, Easton and Bodhi Young; sister-in-law, Jane Lubker of DeSoto; brother-in-law, David (Paula) Griffard of South Carolina.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law.
