Put faith in those you’ve elected

To the Editor:
I have seen for some time now all the bickering and complaining regarding COVID protocol, mask mandates, the actions of our own health department in addition to county commissioner activity and changes our local hospital is considering. And that’s just to name a few.
I’m going to keep this simple ... many of these entities contain Perry County folks voted on and chosen by the majority of voters of this county. Let’s all quit pointing fingers, and seeking to undermine decisions made by these elected officials and work together to make Perry County a better place. If you don’t like what they’re doing, you have every right to voice your concern but it should be done in a respectable way. I urge everyone to get off social media and make your statement public and in person at the appropriate time and in the appropriate way. I am fairly certain if everyone did that, many comments would never leave their lips.

It’s a known fact, change is hard. That in and of itself does not make it wrong. We all have to do our part to support those we’ve put in these local positions in the hope they have our best interest at heart. If you feel otherwise, let your vote be heard the next time around or, better yet, get your name on the ballot!
