PHS, SV soccer moves on in districts

Perryville and St. Vincent soccer made somewhat quick work of their opponents in their respective district tournaments.
Perryville is moving on to the district championship game of the Class 2, District 1 tournament after defeating North County 8-0 in one half on Saturday and Fredericktown 6-0 on Monday at St. Pius High School.
The first round game against North County took much longer than expected.
There were several lightning delays that took a total of 3.5 hours.
“It was a marathon of a day,” Perryville coach Jerry Fulton said.
Against North County, Ana Moll had two goals and an assist, while Ava Ernst had two goals of her own. Carlie Holdman and Kyla Schnurbusch had a goal and two assists each as well. Rachel Riney and Ashlyn Rodewald had a goal apiece.

Against Fredericktown, Moll had two goals, while Holdman and Schnurbusch had a goal and two assists each. Riney and Brynn Wibbenmeyer had one goal apiece, while Alyssa King tallied an assist.
Perryville played St. Pius for the championship on Wednesday.
Indians
St. Vincent dispatched of Sikeston 8-0 in the opening round of the Class 3, District 1 tournament at Windsor on Saturday in 50 minutes.
The Indians had a big game from Lana Adams, who secured a hat trick in the game. Abigail Schilling scored a goal and dished out two assists, while Sadie Cissell, Kamille Graham, and Cailyn Prost each had one goal and one assist each. Faith Kell, Lauren Light and Allie Strattman tallied one assist apiece.
St. Vincent played Cape Central on Wednesday in the semifinals.
