Perryville sets multiple PRs at Cape Central Invitational

For Perryville cross country coach Shadrick Shafer, his team had possibly the best race of the season so far. The Pirates had multiple personal bests and the boys team finished fifth with 110 points at the Cape Central Invitational Saturday.
Bair Hopkins led the way with a 13th place finish overall and a personal best time of 18:16.98. Micah Brown followed with a personal best time of 18:48.27, which was good for 19th overall.
Porter Hoeckele finished in 18:51 followed by Preston Hoeckele with a new personal best time of 18:52, and Clayton Bauwens rounded out the top five Pirate runners with a PR of 19:32. Garrett Roth and Ryan Rauh both hit season bests of 20:21 and 21:53 respectively.
For the varsity girls, Tegan Bishop finished second with a season best time of 20:08.
For St. Vincent, Braden Pech led the way at 20:30.01, which was good for 39th overall, while Ethan Buerck was 46th overall with a time of 21:15.80.

Dane Kline finished 48th overall at 21:27.55, while Ethan Hotop finished 21:47.27 for 50th overall.
For the St. Vincent girls, just two girls took the course as Abby Kirn finished 31st at 25:52.46 and Gabrielle Gremaud finished 39th with a time of 26:57.66.
For Saxony Lutheran, Myra Roth finished 14th to lead the way for the Crusaders with a time of 23:29.99 and Eden Dehne finished with a time of 28:00.31 for 40th place.
The Perryville JV boys saw new PRs for Rodney Rauh (21:05), Brandon Roth (23:10), Ryeland Tanz (24:19), and Lucas Fritsche (30:50).
The JV Girls took 3rd Place overall with Alexa Hagan earning a 6th place medal for her PR of 25:34 and Olivia Iffert medaling with a PR 28:21. Gwen Newbrough finished 21st, with Makayla Iffert right behind her with a PR of 28:21. Eloise Bollinger set a new personal record of 34:22 and Katie Baggett finished in 35:58.
For St. Vincent JV girls, Kennedy Sutterer finished 29th with a time of 30:14 and Jocelyn Weibrecht finised 31:17 to place 36th.
