Perryville man killed in 4-wheeler accident on county road

The Missouri State Highway Patrol responded to two accidents that took place on Aug. 14 and 15, one of which resulted in the death of a Perryville man.

The patrol reports that the fatal crash occurred at 10:20 p.m. Aug. 15 at 2236 County Road 350 in Perry County. A westbound 4-wheeler driven by Michael S. Garris, 62, of Perryville, traveled off the roadway and struck a tree. The 4-wheeler overturned and ejected the driver.

Garris was transported by ambulance to Mercy Perry Hospital, where he subsequently died from his injuries.

The 4-wheeler, which received extensive damage, was secured at the location.

– A Wildwood man received moderate injuries in a one-car accident that occurred at 8:55 a.m. Aug. 14 on Perry County Road 806, south of Route M in Perry County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck took place when a southbound 2020 Ford Fusion, driven by Thomas G. Flannery, 23, of Wildwood, failed to negotiate a curve to the left, traveled off the right side of the road and overturned multiple times.

The driver, who was reportedly wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident, was transported by Perry County Ambulance to Mercy Perry County Hospital, where he was treated for his injuries.

The car, listed as “totaled,” was removed from the scene by Ives Towing.
