Peggy Lane Hotop, 75, of Perryville passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 at Mercy South Hospital.
She was born August 5, 1947 in Perryville to Melvin “Moe” and Nora “Sis” (Laurentius) Wood.
Peggy and Dale Hotop were married on September 20, 1969 at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville.
Peggy worked at Little Bo Peep Nursery in Perryville and later as a custodian for Gilster Mary-Lee. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church - Highland, American Legion Auxiliary Post 133, Daughters of Isabella and Red Hat Society.
Peggy enjoyed life! She always wore a smile and had a contagiously big laugh. There was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with her 3 granddaughters; taking them out for manicures and shopping till they dropped. Having sleepovers and cooking them a deliciously large breakfast. She could be seen in the bleachers at volleyball games, she was their loudest fan and now she has the best seat in the gym. She loved playing the slots till the early morning hours with her good friend Carol. She enjoyed endless hours of pitch and playing 13 with Kenny and Charlotte and her many other friends. She loved her overnight stays and winery trips with her Gilster family. Her famous chicken dressing and silly vocabulary will be missed at family gatherings. May we have peace and take comfort in knowing Peggy is dancing to Proud Mary on the most beautiful dance floor with Dale, Wesley, Moe, Sis, Eddie and all the beautiful souls that have gone before her.
Survivors include son, Jason (Tammy) Hotop of Perryville; brother, Patrick (Theresa) Wood of Little Rock; three grandchildren, Ashlyn Hotop, Ava Hotop, Abriana Hotop all of Perryville.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Hotop; son, Wesley Hotop; and brother, Eddie Wood.
