SIKESTON—Construction of a roundabout at the intersection of Route 51 and Route 72 in Patton will soon begin.

Construction is set to begin on Monday, April 28, with completion anticipated for Saturday, Nov. 1, weather permitting.

Routes 51 and 72 will both be reduced to one lane, with 10-foot width restrictions near the intersection. Temporary bypasses will be constructed to help guide motorists through the work zone, remaining in place 24 hours a day.

As the project approaches completion, temporary closures will be necessary for connecting to the existing pavement.

The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are encouraged to exercise extreme caution while traveling near the area.
