Nancy Ann (Cissell) Hlavek, 72, of Perryville, was welcomed into the arms of her Heavenly Father on Jan. 21, 2022.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Randy Hlavek; her children Kate and Joe Martin and Steve Hlavek; her grandchildren Taylor, Layne, Brandon and Ross Hlavek; Christopher and Rachael Hoehn, Joel and Leslie Martin, April Weibrecht; and great-grandchildren Aria Hoehn, and Ava, Mariah, Wade and Erik Weibrecht; her siblings Dana Cissell Moll and Allen (Becky) Cissell; her sisters-in-law Mary Hlavek Carbone (Rich Larmer), Pam Cissell, Sharon Cissell and Gail Cissell; and her cousin and best friend Kathy Renaud French.
She was preceded in death by her parents Perry and Jean Cissell; mother-and father-in-law Rudy and Liz Hlavek; and her younger brothers Ronnie Cissell, Bill Cissell, Steve Cissell and Tommy Cissell.

She was an assistant manager at Pic Pac Grocery until her retirement, and later worked part time for Safety First Industries. She was a member of Christ the Savior Church in Brewer.
Nancy will be remembered for her radiant smile and giving heart. Her kitchen was the gathering place for her extended family, and she always had a pot of coffee ready for visitors. She ruined the punch line of every joke she ever tried to tell, and laughed at herself for it. She was a natural caregiver, happily spending her days helping wherever she was needed. She devoted many years to caring for her mother and mother-in-law, who were among her dearest friends. She gave generously of her time and treasure to help people in need, especially children. Her loved ones take comfort in knowing that, after years of blindness and fragile health, Nancy is now living in peace and light.
Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 28, 2022 from 7-9:20 am at Ford & Young Funeral Home. Funeral mass will follow at 10 a.m. at Christ the Savior Catholic Church in Brewer with Father Ben Melaku C.M. officiating.
Internment will be at Christ the Savior Cemetery with a private service. A luncheon will follow the Mass at Elizabeth Ann Seton Hall in Brewer, and all who were touched in some way by Nancy are invited to join in this celebration of her life. Memorials may be made to Nancy’s favorite charities, the Children’s Fund at Perry County School District or Regional Family Crisis Center, or an organization of your choice. Arrangements were handled by Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
