Michael J. Garris, 82, of Crosstown passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 at his residence.
He was born Feb. 20, 1938 in Perry County to Steve and Daisy (Roberts) Garris.
He and Alice May (Evans) Garris were married on June 18, 1960 in Sereno. She survives in Crosstown.
Michael was a Heavy Equipment Operator and Maintenance Technician for Operating Engineers Local 513 for 63 years. He loved bluegrass music, dancing, taking photos and scenic drives. He loved the woods, mushroom hunting, and mowing the lawn, singing, playing the harmonica and enjoying family times.
Survivors include three sons, Michael Steven Garris and Daniel Wayne (Wendy) Garris both of Crosstown, Kurt Shane Garris and fiance Jamie Miller of Perryville; three daughters, Winona Renee (Don) Koetting, Yvonne Kay (Chris) Petzoldt and Kathy Faye Taylor all of Perryville, thirteen grandchildren, Lindsey (Koetting) Edmonds, Landon Koetting, Abby Garris, Libby Garris, Michael Garris III, Misty Rolens, Dustin Rolens, Mark Taylor, Andrew Taylor, Brittany (Taylor) Bromhead, Myles Douglass, Rachael Garris and Kolby Garris and twelve great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, Fredi Abernathy, Anna Faye Noe, Winnie Lee Bradley and one grandson.
