Marilyn T. Kassel

Marilyn T. Kassel, 87, of St. Louis passed away Friday, Oct. 1, 2021 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis.
She was born Nov. 2, 1933 in Perryville. She was the only child of the late to Martin R. and Dorothy M. (Springer) Thompson. She was married to Harry E. Kassel on July 5, 1952. He preceded her in death on Feb. 26, 2004.
Marilyn worked with her husband as a bookkeeper in the automobile and real estate businesses. She loved playing golf and cards with her friends. Marilyn loved her family especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Marilyn was a member of the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection in St. Louis.
Survivors include daughters, Michelle Kassel (Dan Elkins) and Lisa (Steve) Bailey; daughter-in-law, Deborah Kassel; Five grandchildren, Kristopher Kassel, Alysse Moore Calloway, Brittany Moore, Lauren (Joe) Palmer and Jill (Matthew) Rudolph and twelve great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and son Kent Kassel.
Visitation will be on Saturday, Oct. 9, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, 9907 Sappington Rd., St. Louis, with the funeral service at 2 p.m. The burial service will follow at 4 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Perryville with the Rev. David Gruenwald officiating both.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are preferred to the Lutheran Church of the Resurrection, St. Louis or Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Perryville.
