Letter to the Editor: We need what’s best for our community

Posted

Dear Editor,
I attended a VERY informative meeting last Monday (Feb. 14) regarding OUR Perry County Memorial Hospital!
I do not feel that our county hospital needs to be guided, or controlled, by a large city conglomerate!
SE is NOT a conglomerate! SE Hospital is my “go to” hospital and has been for the last 33 years.
Their proposed nursing school would be a REAL asset for Perry County – for education, for employment and our merchants. If someone else comes in it could jeopardize this, too!

Why don’t we do what Ste. Genevieve County did – SAY NO to Mercy!
I feel we are being pressured, or whatever, into something that is NOT for the betterment of our community!
We must give Frank Robinson a round of gratitude for interceding on this issue and bringing it to the attention of the Perry County citizens and business owners. After all, we, as a county, own the property of the hospital?
Why did Steve Rozier PUSH the board to sign non-disclosure agreements during these discussions? One from each of the boards will be invited to sit on the SE Board? It is IMPORTANT to get out and VOTE in April!!
