Letter to the Editor: Trout season

Posted

(Editor’s note: The following comment appeared after a story about the proposed improvements to Legion Lake was posted on Facebook earlier this month. It is used with their permission.)
We have lived next to Legion Lake for over 10 years. When we first moved in the current trail was used often and even Boy Scouts camped around the lake a couple times a year. Then the trail was neglected and over grown, but still somewhat usable. I think an additional outdoor trail in the area would be an asset to the community. We often hike the county lake but would like variety as well. We do travel to other areas such as state parks to hike. We are parents who are definitely against society’s norm and want our kids outside and not behind screens. Even now they go on adventures on the trail in its present condition. We are excited to see what this new trail will be like. This will only be a waste of money for those who chose not to use it or do not put value in being outside instead of behind the screen. By the way the lake is stock with fish. Opening day of trout season there is no where to park.
