Letter to the Editor: Questions about hospital merger

Posted

To the Editor:
If and when the merger occurs between Perry County Memorial Hospital and Mercy, what happens to the properties the hospital has acquired? Are they owned by the county? What will happen to the Ambulance Service?
Explain why Perry County Memorial Hospital was given a CMS (Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services) rating of 1 out of 5, one being the lowest.
(PCMH had been rated at a 4.) Chester Memorial Hospital and Ste. Genevieve Hospital are rated at 3 and 4, and are not in financial distress.
PCMH needs to come clean and open up their financial records for the people of Perry County to see. The people of this county deserve nothing less. This is not Washington, DC!
