Letter to the Editor: God’s commandment

Posted

Dear Editor,
I was really shocked when I heard there was going to be a Protest against the reversal of Roe vs. Wade on the square in Perryville. When I read about it in the newspaper I was glad to see that it was only started by two women in Perryville and they went out on social media to get a group together from other areas than our own. Hopefully, this is telling us that Perryville is still a Christian community that believes in God. They believe that God creates human beings. They believe that God created human beings male and female. That God gave us the Ten Commandments so we could live good decent moral lives. When Roe vs. Wade was passed it changed our world drastically. It gave the right to kill babies to women who did not want to have them or were forced by the father to have the abortion so they did not have to support a child. Families became single parent units. Children being the ones hurt most in these situations. God’s 5th commandment was “Thou Shall not Kill”. No one should be given the right to go against a commandment of God. When we do not follow God’s commandments it only brings turmoil to our world. After Roe vs. Wade was passed turmoil escalated throughout our world. It broke down the family, women and child abuse soared, drug use soared, shootings soared, etc. One congresswoman said that when Roe vs. Wade was overturned it was a slap in the face to all women.
To me, it was a slap in the face to all women when it was passed 50 years ago. The damage this bill did to women can be seen by all the organizations that exist today to help these women who have had an abortion to be able to live with themselves knowing they killed their own baby. Thanks to our Christian community we have organizations to help these women and we also have organizations to help those who were thinking of having an abortion to not have it and give them help to bring that child into the world.
Our Christian community prayed diligently these last 50 years to have Roe vs. Wade overturned. Our prayers were answered. We now have another obstacle to overcome and that is if each state is allowed to decide if abortion is legal in their state, we need to start praying now that we have enough Christians in each state to vote abortion illegal in each state.

I would also like to let all of you know that while this protest was going on in our city of Perryville around our courthouse, Christians were gathered in a church together praying for the protesters that they could have a change of heart and realize that these are babies they are aborting.
A pastor on TV said it pretty clear and I quote “The sperm cell is alive, the egg cell is alive, when it joins it is alive.” That is a baby and it is alive!
Keep Praying!
