Letter to the Editor: A+ for officers

It was a recent Sunday morning in downtown Perryville. The Courthouse clock read 5:15. The glow of streetlights yellowed the darkness.
The first of three daily’ fresh-air’ walks had just started. The North Main crosswalk in front of Friendly Furniture is where I almost stepped on it: the blood-and-guts of a smashed armadillo/ f
The Dispatcher at the Police Station took the armadillo report seriously. Within 20 minutes two Police Officers had the animal properly bagged and dumpstered. The 3 Officers did an A+ job.
Climate change and a warming Earth makes for a hotter Texas. That forces animals like armadillos to travel north to the cooler Midwestern states.
The next time you’re out and about, watch your step.
