Leon Bernard Wahlers, 81, of Perryville passed away Monday, April 5, 2021 at Missouri Veterans Home in Cape Girardeau.
He was born March 22, 1940 in Crosstown to Theodore and Hilda (Steffens) Wahlers. He and Lynda (Heberlie) Wahlers were married Oct. 15, 1966. She survives in Perryville.
He had been an electrician for Wahlco/D. W. Tool, and Mississippi Lime Co.

He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church, American Legion Post 133, VFW Post 4282, and Charter Member of Perry County Saddle Club, all in Perryville. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include two daughters, Michele (Michael) Coon of Poplar Bluff, Nicole Hines of Jackson; two brothers, Donald Wahlers and Ronald (Jen) Wahlers all of Jackson; four sisters, Stella Smith of Herculaneum, Elsie Crossland of Festus, Virginia Smith of Fayetteville, Ark., Sandy Turlin of Perryville; and two granddaughters, Miranda Hines and Lyla Hines. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Alfred Steffens, Raymond, Floyd, Melvin and Terry Wahlers; and two sisters, Erna Medlock and Mildred Wahlers.
Friends may call at Ford & Young Chapel in Perryville on Thursday, April 8, 2021 from 4 - 8 p.m. and on Friday, April 9 from 6:30 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. with Rev. Joseph Schlie officiating. Military funeral honors will follow service.
