Laverne F. Tucker, 78, of Perryville passed away Sunday, April 18, 2021 at her residence. She was born September 16, 1942 in Cape Girardeau to Alvin J. and Irene H. (Unterreiner) Zoellner.
She and Paul ‘Tommy’ Tucker were married May 11, 1963 at the Church of the Assumption in Perryville. He survives in Perryville. Laverne was a teachers aide at St. Vincent Elementary School, Perryville for 18 years.
She was a member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Perryville. She was a 1960 graduate of St. Vincent High School. Laverne cared for many young children at her in-home childcare for many years. She loved attending her grandchildren’s school and sporting events and enjoyed taking family vacations. Her whole life was her family.
Survivors include husband, Paul ‘Tommy’ Tucker; one son, Daniel (Special Friend Angie Brewer) Tucker; one daughter, Jackie (Jeffrey) Leible all of Perryville, MO; five grandchildren, Katherine (Cody) Henderson, Christopher Tucker, Destiny Leible, Ethan Leible and Paige Leible; three great-grandchildren, Kristen, Corey and Karalynn Henderson. She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant brothers, Bernard and Charles that died at birth.
Visitation will be Friday, April 23, 2021 from 4-8 p.m. and Saturday, April 24, 2021 from 6:30-9:30 a.m. at Ford & Young Funeral Home in Perryville.
Funeral Mass will be Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Perryville with the Rev. Rich Wehrmeyer C.M. officiating. Burial will be at St. Maurus Catholic Cemetery in Biehle. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Schools or Association of the Miraculous Medal.
