Joan L. Jokerst, 89, of Zell, died Monday, January 2, 2023 at Riverview At The Park in Sainte Genevieve.
She was born June 9, 1933 in Perryville and married to Flavian A. Jokerst on August 20, 1960.
She was a member of St. Joseph Ladies Sodality, St. Joseph Adult Choir, Legion of Mary, St. Joseph Altar Society, Chairperson of Lady of Fatima Grotto. Joan was devoted to her faith and her parish of St. Joseph in Zell, she enjoyed quilting, gardening, bowling, playing pitch, going to the casino. Joan spent most of her time caring and cooking for her family. Most of all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by: four daughters, Gail (James) Mueller of Bloomsdale, MO, Kimberly (Dale) Basler of Zell, MO, Connie (Brian) Naeger of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Kathy (Charles “Chip”) Marzuco of Sainte Genevieve, MO; two sisters, Sharon Pingel of Perryville, Jackie (Doug) Estes of Perryville; Grandchildren, Christopher and Nathan Mueller; Brandon Basler and Emily (Logan) Giesler; Adam (Jessica), Aaron (Melissa), Benjamin (Elizabeth) & Nicholas (Raegen) Naeger; Maria & Abby Marzuco; 9 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by: her husband, Flavian A. Jokerst; father, Lloyd Layton; mother, Eleanor (Moonier) Layton; sister, Velda Barks; three brothers, Robert Layton, William Layton, Glenn Layton; Grandson Andrew Marzuco
