Indians win title, Crusaders second

FESTUS — St. Vincent’s golf team turned in a 369 Monday to win the Class 2, District 1 tournament at Crystal Highlands Golf Course in Festus.

Saxony Lutheran was second at 381. The Indians were led by junior Sam Koishor, who shot a 10-over-par 82 to finish in first place overall, followed by Adam Brickhaus, who turned in a 91, good enough for 10th place and a tie with Saxony’s Bryce Gaebler.

Also for St. Vincent, Colden Prost was 16th with a 97, and Quinton Doza was tied with Brecken Reiss for 20th at 99. For the Crusaders, Wesley Kiehne ended in a three-way tie for seventh at 88, Thomas Hasz was 19th at 98, Marvin Nash finihsed 36th at 108, and Alex Buerck was 45th at 115.

The state tournament will be held May 19-20 in Joplin.
