Two men were injured in a head-on collision that occurred at 10:15 p.m. Saturday on Highway 51 at Ozark Lane in Perry County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred when a southbound 2020 Ford Focus driven by a 21-year-old male from Waynesburg, Penn., crossed the center line of Highway 51, striking a northbound 2006 Hyundai Sonata driven by a 61-year-old man from Sedgewickville, after which the Focus went off the westbound side of the roadway, and the Sonata went off the eastbound side.
The driver of the Focus, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, was transported to St. Francois Health Center by Perry County Ambulance, where he was treated for serious injuries.
The driver of the Sonata, who was reportedly wearing his seat belt when the accident occurred, was also transported by Perry County Ambulance to St. Francois Health Center, where he was treated for moderate injuries.
Both cars, which were totaled, were removed from the scene by Perry County Towing.
