A High Ridge woman was killed Sunday, Jan, 5, 2019, in a traffic accident on Hwy. 51 in Perry County.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Maya G. Flaherty, 27, was traveling east on Hwy. 51 east of PCR 600 at approximately 6:50 a.m. when her car, a 2009 Chevrolet Impala, ran off the right side of the road and struck a tree.
Flaherty was pronounced dead at the scene by Perry County coroner Bill Bohnert. It was unclear if Flaherty was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
Her car was ruled a total loss and was towed from the scene by Hunsaker Towing of Perryville.
In the wake of the accident, portions of Hwy. 51 were closed for nearly two hours as emergency service crews worked to clear the scene.
