Gilbert Gettinger

Gilbert “Gib” W. Gettinger, 91, Saint Mary, died Thursday, June 17, 2021 at Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in Ste. Genevieve.
He was born Oct. 14, 1929 in Ste. Genevieve.
Gilbert married Wilma (Heberlie) Gettinger Nov. 29, 1958.
He is survived by three sons, Bernie (Mechele) Gettinger of Festus, Kevin E. (Mary) Gettinger of Ste. Genevieve and Wayne Gettinger of Ste. Genevieve; two daughters, Tina (Burl) Pickett of Saint Mary and Karen (Kevin Worley) Gettinger of Kansas City; special friend, Ester Bates of Desloge; grandchildren, Dawn Graustein, William Fortenberry, Alisha Gettinger, Elizabeth Kennedy, Joseph Fortenberry, Kimberly Jarvis, Kayla Dunn, Teresa Fortenberry, Emily Gettinger and Lucas Gettinger; as well as several great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma D. Gettinger; mother, Marie (Hurst) Gettinger; father, William Gettinger; sister, Margaret Meyer; two brothers, Francis J. Gettinger and Adrian Gettinger; and grandchildren, Andrew Gettinger and Shelby Hotop
Visitation was Monday, June 21 and Tuesday, June 22.

A graveside service was held at Christ the Savior Cemetery in Brewer Tuesday, June 22.
Military services were performed by VFW Post 2210.
Burial was at Christ the Savior Cemetery in Brewer.
In lieu of flowers memorials can be made to American Stroke Foundation, Muscular Dystrophy Association or Christ the Savior Parish
He was a member of CMA Saint Mary and VFW Post 2210.
