Evelyn J. Detjen, 76, of Perryville passed away Thursday, May 6, 2021 at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Nov. 30, 1944 in Perryville to Wilbert and Ottana (Michaud) Lawrence.
She and Raymond Detjen were married on March 3, 1962 at the Church of the Assumption. He survives in Perryville.
Evelyn was retired from Gilster Mary Lee. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Perryville. Evelyn enjoyed shopping, gardening, cooking and spending time with the family. She enjoyed going out to eat dinner at many different places.
Survivors include daughter, Cindy (Kevin) Elder of Perryville; son, David (Sharon) Detjen of Perryville; three brothers, Roger Lawrence of Perryville, Ronald Lawrence of St. Louis, Jimmy Lawrence of Perryville; seven sisters, Reva (Thomas) Boxdorfer of Bethalto, Ill., Virginia (Paul) Lowes, Velma Hayden, Wilma Kline, Mary (Kim) Flentge all of Peryville, Verna DePauw of Marion, Ill., Willene (Gary) Frost of Gary, Ind.; four grandchildren, two step grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Rodney Lawrence, Ralph Lawrence, Edgar J. Lawrence; and one sister, Rena Lawrence.
