Eleven Pirates make I-55 Conference team

The Perryville football team received plenty of postseason recognition after its 2022 season ended. A total of 11 players were named to the I-55 All-Conference team when the rosters were recently announced.
Perryville had two players named to the first team as Kaden Morrison was named as an offensive tackle and Devon Seabaugh earned a spot on the first team as a defensive back.
Seabaugh totaled 59 tackles (8 tackles for loss), with three forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries. He also had one interception.
Davin Wheeler led the Perryville second team selections as a center as Ben Hotop made the team as a running back. Alex Sanders was named to the team as a linebacker, while Cameron Young made the squad as a defensive back. Morrison earned a second all-conference selection as a defensive end.
Hotop was second on the team with 569 yards and six touchdowns on the team, while also earning another four catches for 58 yards.
Sanders led the team with 84 total tackles (10 tackles for loss) with one sack, three fumble recoveries and one interception.
Young had 64 total tackles (five tackles for loss), one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and one interception.
Morrison was second on the team with 74 total tackles (11 tackles for loss) with one sack, two forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.

Jacob Lyerla led the honorable mention selections for the Pirates as a guard, while Sanders and Hotop earned their second all-conference selections as running back and defensive end respectively.
Ethan Blythe earned an honorable mention as a tight end and Tyler Rhyne and Cooper Hudson earned a spot in the athlete category.
Sanders led the team with 574 yards and six touchdowns, while Hotop had 36 total tackles (five for loss) with two sacks, three forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries.
Blythe was second on the team with 15 catches, while leading the Pirates 168 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.
Rhyne had six catches for 111 yards and two catches while earning two rshing touchdowns as well. On defense, Rhyne earned 43 tackles.
Hudson had 71 total tackles on the year (six for loss) with one fumble recovery.

Perryville had four players earn All-District for Class 4, District 1. Ben Hotop (RB) and Kaden Morrison (OT) made the first team, while Alex Sanders (LB) and Devon Seabaugh (DB) made the second team
