A school bus was involved in an accident after school today, Wednesday, Jan. 27. Emergency services responded to the scene and evaluated all students and children, and determined there were no injuries that required transport to the hospital.

Students were transferred to another bus and brought back to campus to be reunited with parents and evaluated by school nurses. School district nurses will follow up with the students and families.

The accident is being investigated by the Missouri State Highway Patrol. Per district policy, the driver was evaluated by medical staff at Perryville Family Care Clinic West.

Assistant Superintendent Jeanie White thanked the first responders, and praised the students.

“Our students were very brave throughout the incident and were so happy to be reunited with their parents,”  White said. “I am grateful for the quick actions of our driver and the district’s emergency response team; they made sure that our kiddos made it home safely tonight.”
