David Allen “Dave” Brewer, age 82, of Festus, passed away Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020 at his home. He was born Feb. 3, 1938 in Brewer, the son of the late Agnes “Cecelia” (nee Swink) and Harley Brewer.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, married May 27, 1961, Monica (nee Heberlie) Brewer; children Craig (Christine) Brewer of Festus, Dana (Roger) Beavers of Arnold, Lisa (Jeff) Broombaugh of DeSoto, Missouri, and Kyle (Christine) Brewer of Festus; brothers Gene (Judy) Brewer of Dunlap, Tennessee, and Jerry (Iva) Brewer of Brewer, Missouri; a sister Debra Thieret of Perryville; grandchildren Candice (Jacob) Phipps, Justin (Tonya) Brewer, Tana (Cody) Harrison, Tyler Beavers, Austin Beavers, Leslie (Sam) Hegger, Jeffrey Broombaugh, Steven Broombaugh, Monica Broombaugh, Morgan Broombaugh, Kyle D. (Jessica) Brewer, Ill., and Amber (Brent) Kelley; and great-grandchildren Mathias Phipps, Selah Phipps, Addison Brewer, Madilynn Brewer, Ethan Brewer, Michelle Beavers, Brooke Beavers, Hadley Brewer, Liam Brewer, Savana Brewer, and Remi Kelley.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a brother Charles Brewer.

Dave was a proud Navy Veteran, having served on the USS McGinty; a retired autoworker from the GM plant in St. Louis, Missouri; member of the Catholic faith; and was a very community minded person. He was the Past Commander and life member of American Legion #253; life member of VFW #3777; a 4th degree member and Faithful Navigator of the Knights of Columbus Council #1230; Shekinah Masonic Lodge #256; Elks Lodge #1721; Past President and former member of the Mapaville Volunteer Fire Department; and Past President of the Bloomsdale, and later St. Mary, Missouri Country Music Association.
Visitation is 4-8 p.m. is Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at Vinyard Funeral Home in Festus. Funeral services 10 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020 at the funeral home, officiated by Chaplain Mike Sacca of Hillsboro. Interment with full military honors in Hematite Methodist Cemetery of Hematite, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, please make memorials in Dave’s memory to the St. Louis Shriners Hospital for Children, or the St. Jude Children’s Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
