A total of six active cases of Covid-19 were reported by the Perry County Health Department earlier this week as the county continues local vaccination efforts.
"We have six active cases as of today," said assistant director Liz House earlier this week. "Our seven-day rolling average of new cases is also below one."
The state of Missouri opened up the vaccine eligibility earlier this week and the county has set up clinics soon after a shipment of vaccine supply arrives.
"We've been able to regularly host clinics with the vaccine allotments we are receiving," said Perry County Health Department Director Sylvia Forester. "We are getting good feedback at our clinics from residents regarding the clinic opportunities and the ability to receive vaccine."
Approximately 4,600 doses total have been given to county residents, Forester said.
This tally includes first and second doses and the Perry Park Center clinics in which the county received support from Perry County Memorial Hospital employees
Initially, the Pzifer and Moderna versions were the only versions available.
“The vast majority of calls we get do not have a preference. Until recently we have received calls from individuals only wanting the Johnson and Johnson vaccine," Forester said.
