A Chester man received serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident that occurred at 7:26 a.m. Aug. 2 on Highway 51, near Perry County Road 902 in Perry County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the collision took place when a southbound 2016 Dodge Dart driven by Zoraida Flores, 40, of Chester, crossed into the northbound lane and struck a northbound 2013 Ford F350 pickup truck driven by Karl M. Kasten, 44, of Frohna.
Flores, who was reportedly not wearing a seat belt when the crash occurred, was transported by Mercy Ambulance Service to Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, where he was treated for his injuries.
The car, which was listed as being “totaled” and the pickup, which received “moderate” damage were removed from the scene by Perry County Towing.
Arrest
Danielle L. Velders, 36, of Perryville, was placed under arrest at 3:15 p.m. Aug. 5 in Perry County on an MSHP charge of driving while intoxicated. She was transported to the Perry County Jail, where she was subsequently released.
