Charles M. Brown, 86, of Friedheim peacefully passed away Sunday, September 18, 2022 at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on June 6, 1936 in St. Louis to Marquis Anthony and Golda Lucille (Dillard) Brown.
He was married to Joan Pona on November 28, 1964 in St.Louis who passed away on July 3, 2003. He later married Karen Hammon, who passed away February 7, 2018.
He was a member of Faith Presbyterian Church. He served in the United States Army as a Green Beret during the Korean Conflict.
He attended the University of Missouri, Columbia. He was a member of Perryville Masonic Lodge #670, Scottish Rite Valley of St. Louis, St. Louis Moolah Shriners, Special Forces Association - Martha Raye Chapter 27, American Legion Post #133 Perryville, and Perryville Elk’s Lodge #2701. Charlie was the owner, agent & broker of C.M. Brown & Associates Inc. Insurance Agency specializing in commercial truck insurance. Charlie was also a real estate developer.
Survivors include daughter, Nancy (Kirk) Emmendorfer of Perryville; son, Marquis “Mark” C. (Moya) Brown of Columbi; two brothers, Ronald (Linda) Brown of Appleton City, MO, John (Susan) Brown of Weston, MO; seven grandchildren, Nicole Flentge, Adam (Lacie) Flentge, Randi Emmendorfer, Kelly (Matt) Cardenas, Jacob Brown, Alex Brown, Lucas Brown; five great-grandchildren Paige Flentge, Bailey Barnett, Karter Flentge, Charlie Cardenas, Elliot Friedrich.

He was preceded in death by his parents; 1st wife Joan Pona, 2nd wife Karen Hammon and brother, Taylor Brown Sr.
Visitation will be from 7:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 24, 2022 at Ford & Young Funeral Home, Perryville.
Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday September 24, 2022 with Rev. Don Estes officiating.
Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Perryville with military honors provided by Missouri Military Funeral Honors Team.
Memorial contributions may be given to Missouri National Veterans Memorial, Perryville or Shriner’s Hospital, St. Louis.
