While the season is just getting underway for every team and school in the state, coaches and fans can already start looking at the postseason as well.
The Missouri State High School Activities Association released the class and district assignments on Friday.
The St. Vincent baseball team is looking to get back to the district championship after falling to Crystal City last season. However, they won’t get a rematch with the Hornets as the Indians, along with Saxony Lutheran will be in Class 2, District 3. The Crusaders have spent the last few seasons in Class 3.
The Indians and Crusaders are grouped with Advance, Bloomfield, Chaffee, Meadow Heights, and Puxico.
Perryville baseball will also see a change as they are in Class 4, District 2, after being in district 1 for the past several seasons. The Pirates are grouped with Park Hills Central, Herculaneum, Potosi and Ste. Genevieve. Perryville had been grouped with Kennett, Notre Dame and others in the past.

Changes can also be found with Saxony Lutheran girls’ soccer as they are back in Class 1. The Crusaders return to their original class after being moved to Classes 2 and 3 the past few seasons thanks to the state’s success factor. The Crusaders spent last season in Class 2 with Perryville.
Now, the Crusaders are grouped with Kelly, Hancock, Gateway Science Academy, and Collegiate School of Med-Bio Science. The Crusaders fell to Fredericktown last season in the district tournament.
Perryville will look to make another deep postseason run and that again will begin with the Class 2, District 1 tournament. Perryville is grouped with Affton, Bayless, Bishop DeBourg, DeSoto, Fredericktown, North County, and St. Pius. The Lancers made the Class 1 Final Four last season.
St. Vincent will still be in Class 3, District 1. The Indians fell to Notre Dame-St. Louis in the district championship game last season. They will get a chance for redemption as they will be grouped with Notre Dame-St. Louis, Cape Central, Farmington Festus, Hillsboro, Sikeston, and Windsor.
The St. Vincent and Saxony golf teams are placed in Class 1, District 1, while the Perryville golf team is placed in Class 4, District 1.
