Cape man arrested on felony drug charge

A Cape Girardeau man is facing felony drug possession and other charges after Perry County sheriff's deputies arrested him outside a Perryville motel.

According to a report from the Perry County Sheriff's Office, James D. Tiller, 39, was arrested Tuesday after deputies received a tip that he was using and selling illegal drugs at the motel.

When deputies were dispatched to investigate, they found Tiller outside his room and in possession of illegal drugs. 

After Tiller was arrested, a search warrant was obtained for the room he rented and deputies found methamphetamine, marijuana and assorted drug paraphernalia inside. 

Tiller is charged with felony possession of a controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tiller has previous convictions for delivery of a controlled substance and felony possession.

He is being held at the Perry County Jail on a $10,000 bond.
