The deadline for those seeking positions on both the Perry Board Health Department Board of Trustees and the Perry County Memorial Hospital Board of Trustees is rapidly approaching.
Those presently on the county’s five-member Board of Public Health are Denise Morrison, Sharon K. Unterreiner, Carol Moore and Mary Boxdorfer. Morrison and Moore’s spots are up for election. In addition, there is a vacancy but the Perry County Commission has not appointed someone to fill the spot.
Keith Carroll, Carisa Stark and Alexandria Lueders, will join incumbents Denise Morrison and Carol Moore on the ballot.
Perry County Clerk Jared Kutz is pleased to see more individuals stepping forward to participate in the election process.
“The selection of representation on Perry County Health Department and Memorial Hospital boards of trustees is a critical exercise of representative government,” Kutz said. “I am excited for the voters of the county that we will have contested races for both of these important boards.”
The four-year terms are staggered for the Board of Public Health. Since three positions are up for election in 2021, there will be two up for election in 2023.
