JEFFERSON CITY — Junior pole vaulter Casey Call finished seventh in the pole vault to lead Saxony Lutheran’s contingent at the Missouri State High School Activities Association’s Class 2 State Championship track meet on May 24 at Jefferson City High School.
Call, who spent most of the season ranked among the top five among Class 2 pole vaulters by MoMileSplit.com, cleared 2.95 meters in the final, well below her personal record of 3.35 meters set April 14 at the Scott City Open.
Call ended her season ranked third in Class 2, behind Sherwood’s Aubrey McCulloh (No. 2, 3.44 PR) and top-ranked Tandee Hiser (3.77 PR), a sophomore from Butler.
Hiser and McCulloh finished first and second in the pole vault at the state meet, clearing 3.51 and 3.43, respectively.
Saxony’s Sarah Seabaugh finished 12th in the event with a height of 2.8 meters.
No other Crusaders reached the finals in their events, with Abigail Haley finishing 12th in the 100 hurdles preliminary with a time of 16.92 seconds, the Lady Crusaders’ 1,600 relay finishing 12th in the prelims at 4:18.45, Maksim Mayhew finishing 11th in the 400 prelim at 51.77, and Nashaun Davis finishing 9th in the 110 hurdles prelim with a time of 15.82.
